Indian spacetech startup Bellatrix Aerospace has raised $20 million in a pre-Series B funding round, marking a significant step forward in its growth journey. The round was led by Cactus Partners, with participation from a mix of new and existing investors.
New backers include Hero Investment Office, 35 North Ventures, Indusbridge Ventures, and Monarch Holdings. Existing investors such as Inflexor, Pavestone, GrowX, Startup Xseed, and Survam Partners also took part in the round.
Funding to Boost Manufacturing and Global Demand
The company plans to use the fresh capital primarily to expand its manufacturing capabilities. This move is aimed at meeting increasing demand from both domestic and international satellite constellation operators.
In addition, Bellatrix Aerospace will allocate funds toward active customer programmes and enhancing its operational readiness as it prepares for larger-scale deployments.

Rohan Ganapathy, Co-Founder and CEO, stated that the investment reflects strong confidence in the company’s ability to scale efficiently.
He highlighted that the company has already achieved flight qualification for its core technologies and is now focused on building a consistent and reliable production ecosystem. The goal is to significantly increase annual output while maintaining quality and performance standards.
Building Advanced Propulsion Systems In-House
Founded in 2015 by Rohan Ganapathy and Yashas Karanam, Bellatrix Aerospace develops advanced propulsion solutions, including electric and chemical systems designed for satellites of various sizes.
The company operates on a vertically integrated model, handling everything from design and development to manufacturing, testing, and integration internally. This approach allows for better control over quality, cost, and innovation.

Yashas Karanam, Co-Founder and COO, emphasized that the company has transitioned from a research-driven phase to a production-ready model.
He pointed out improvements in manufacturing timelines, with lead times now reduced to under six months. The company is also focusing on optimizing unit economics to deliver competitive pricing without compromising reliability.
